Selma Garibović is awarded the “Best LowVision Consultation” prize at the “Professionals perform” (PLW) competition of the Central Association of Opticians and Optometrists (ZVA).
On 12 November 2022, in Dortmund, Germany’s best newly qualified opticians of the year competed against each other in the national final of the PLW competition in German craftsmanship. Prior to this, they had qualified for the finals by obtaining the best results in the vocational examinations of their respective states.
At the Eye Optics Training Centre (BZAO) of the Association of Opticians and Optometrists North Rhine-Westphalia (AOV NRW) in Dortmund, a total of 15 participants had to complete various tasks from their everyday work at three stations.
The young opticians were required to demonstrate their skills in a consultation, a complaint, and a creative craft task.
Selma Garibović from Hesse impressed the jury by giving the best advice on the topic of low vision (magnifying vision aids). She won a further training course from the SCHWEIZER company.
SCHWEIZER congratulates all participants on their excellent achievements and wishes them every success for the future.
